October!
Welcome to the beginning of another year at Lou MacNarin School! I hope all of you had a wonderful summer and were able to do some great summer activities with your friends and family. My name is Ms. Vallee and I will be your child's teacher. My classroom is located on the first floor (in the K-1 wing) room 188. I am looking forward to teaching your child and I know we are going to have a great time learning together this year!
Dates to remember for
September:
September 2 - (Tuesday) - Back to School!
September 18 - (Thursday) - Meet the Teacher night at 6:00pm. ***Please note that the time has changed to 6:00 instead of 6:30***
I would like to apologize for any confusion or unnecessary shopping regarding the school supply lists. As I stated in the notice I sent home that the lists were created by District Office. I sent home any extra supplies that I will not be using in Grade 1. You can put them aside and save for Grade 2 or use some for homework purposes.
Other information:
Scholastic Book Orders - When sending in book orders for your child, please send cheques only (no
cash) and include your child's name on the order form. Due dates for orders will be stamped on the flyers. ~ I will try my best to send the flyers monthly.~
Agendas - If you have any questions or concerns, please write them in your child's agenda on the RIGHT SIDE and I will respond right away. For more important concerns, please don't hesitate to phone me at 856-3411. Please leave the clip on your child's agenda open to the current date as it makes checking them much faster in the mornings (I know it may seem like a small thing, but it makes a big difference).
The agendas are in and the cost is $10.00. Please send this fee in with your child as soon as possible.
Good Things To Know Notice - (HOMEWORK)
This notice will explain homework expectations in grade 1. Please try to read through the notice before Meet the Teacher night and I will answer any questions or concerns at that time.
Food/Snack policy - Please remember that we are a peanut/nut free school. We have a number of students with severe, life threatening allergies and it is important that you ensure your child's lunch does not contain nuts.
Hot Lunch Orders - If your child is ordering hot lunch please make them aware if this before they come to school. In an enveloppe or baggie please include money and a note with your child's name and what they are ordering. The orders are sent down to the cafeteria first thing in the morning to allow time for preparation.
Thank you for your support. It makes a student's school experience so much better when parents and teachers work together and I am looking forward to working with you this year.
Sincerely, Ms. Leslie Vallee
